John Cook handles a wide variety of civil litigation and transactional matters. Prior to joining DMSG in 2021, John worked for a premier insurance-defense firm wherein his practice was entirely litigation-based. Known for his pragmatic approach, John is committed to the unique needs of every client. Whether in the courtroom, at the negotiating table, or before a regulatory body, his primary goal is to protect client interests and achieve their objectives as efficiently as possible.
John earned his earned his J.D./D.C.L. from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where he was recognized as a top appellate advocate in the Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court Competition. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Lafayette Bar Association and the Krewe of Gabriel. In addition to his private practice, John has presented continuing legal education courses on Louisiana’s Public Records Law, Louisiana’s Open Meetings Law, and Expropriation Litigation.
